SURGERY #6 – 12/07/2006 – Dr. Kimball – Parked Motorcycle Fell and Buckled Left Knee

#1  Damaged Femoral Groove Before Surgery.  Lots of rough ridges.

#2  Lateral Notch w/ ACL in the Background.

#3  Femoral Groove after being smoothed out.  Possible pick cardoplasty performed.  This stimulates new vasculation and regrowth.

#4  Lateral Femoral Condyle.  Healthy.  The crater from surgery #5 is gone.  A pick cardoplasty (bone microfracturing) was performed on this one and it’s smoothed over.  It’s like a miniature stem-cell growth.  Fantastic.

#1  Lateral Meniscus.  Healthy.  On the Right is the Lateral Femoral Cartilage where the 2005 crater was.  It’s filled in and polished over.  Fantastic.

#2  Medial Meniscus.

#3  Lateral Notch.  That may be the old crater.

#4  ACL.  The frothy strands were shaved off.  This doesn’t tighten the ACL, just cleans it up.
